PRECIOUS MOMENTS (DT work)

 

 

My new layout for Scrap Our Stash is based on this sketch by Rochelle Spears!

This is how the challenge goes.

You have to create a layout inspired by this sketch and add a stash item from yur stash that starts with each letter of the word - GOALS.

I chose G - glitter tape, O - organdy ribbon, A - alphas, L - liquid pearls, S - staples.

Exciting, isn't it ??

 

Scrap Our Stash 1月の新しいレイアウトはこちらです。

今回は、このスケッチの他に、ＧＯＡＬＳのそれぞれの頭文字で始まる材料を使って作るチャレンジです。私は、グリッターテープ、オーガンジーのリボン、アルファベットシール、リキッドパール、ホッチキスを使いました。楽しい♪



I used two pictures of my daughter feeding the birds in a flower and birds garden park. 

This time I turned around the sketch. I inked the background (I do this a lot) with Ranger turquoise paint. I dotted liquid pearls on the upper and lower edge of the background paper. I used thickers alphas for the title and glitter tape for one of the borders and stapled them.

花鳥園で小鳥にエサをあげている娘の写真を2枚使いました。
今回はスケッチを90度回転させました。背景をインクで汚し、上下の端をリキッドパールで飾りました。タイトルにはアルファベットステッカーを使い、ボーダーの一つはグリッターテープをホッチキスで留めています。

 

 

I tied an organdy ribbon on the clip, and tucked the ends under the popped up diecut.

 

クリップにはオーガンジーリボンを結び、端をポップアップした英字の中に挟みました。

 



 

Lovely pink heart rhinestones matched perfectly with the layout♡

ピンクハートのラインストーンはこのレイアウトにピッタリでした。

おうちと鳥はペーパーから切り出してポップアップ。

LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES (DT work)

 

 

This is my layout for January15th Stuck?! Sketches Challenge:)

1月15日のStuck?! Sketches　スケッチチャレンジです♪

 

When my daughter was still in pre-school, we went on a trip and guess what we saw on our way home...A gigantic cabbage!! The note near the cabbage says; No touching but photo ok. LOL! It's a bit difficult to see it in the picture, but it was really huge!

I inked the background with Shimmerz Creameez (grapefruit) and covered some of the dots with different sizes of rub-ons. I layered the papers and stitched them with different kinds of stitches. I decorated around the pictures with a frame, fussy cut flowers, prima flowers, flairs, tags and twine. It was new for me to put a title this long, but I love this alphas from pink fresh studio. Here are some close-ups;

 

娘がまだ幼稚園の頃、旅行に行った帰りのこと。巨大キャベツ発見！！貼り紙には、「写真ＯＫ　触るのＮＧ」。写真では分かりにくいけど本当に巨大でした！！

 

背景をインクで汚し、水玉模様のペーパーのところどころに、ラブオンを重ねてドットの大きさを変えました。ペーパーを重ね、色んなステッチでミシンをかけました。写真の周りを、フレームや切り出した花、プリマ、ブラッズ、タグやひもなどで飾りました。長いタイトルは普段つけないので新鮮！このアルファベットシール、可愛くて大好きです♡

OH SNAP

 

 

Today I combined two Challenges. I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy! Here is the awesome sketch:)

 

今日は二つのチャレンジを組み合わせて作りました。一つは、Let's Get Sketchy! のこのスケッチ♪

 



 

And got inspiration from  this picture of Pixels and Paper. CRITERIA is a SUMMER theme.

 

もう一つは、Pixels and Paper のこの写真です。テーマは夏。

 



It's winter in Japan, but in Australia, January is the middle month of Summer. It feels a bit weird to make a summer layout at this time of the year for me, but I LOVE summer and I have more summer pics than winter pics:)  I surely enjoyed creating this layout. I was inspired by the summer feel and the girls playing.

To create the background, I used stencils and turquoise paint. I layered paper and gauze under the photo, fussy cut anchors and words and popped some of them up. I also used flairs, ribbons, rhinestones, dew drops and a rudder for embellishments. Here are some close-ups;

日本では冬ですが、オーストラリアでは1月は夏の真っただ中！日本に住んでいる私としては、この時期に夏のレイアウトを作るのは変な感じですが、夏は大好き！だし、冬より夏の写真が大量にあるので、楽しめました♪ 写真の、夏の雰囲気と遊んでいる女の子にインスピレーションを頂きました。

背景は、ステンシルとターコイズの絵の具で模様をつけました。写真の下は、ペーパーとガーゼを重ね、いかりや英字をペーパーから切り出して一部ポップアップしました。その他にエンベリとしてブラッズやりぼん、ラインストーン、デュードロップ、舵などを使いました。

We’re bacckkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

Hello everyone and welcome BACK to Colorful Creations!  Some of you may remember us from the days of old and many of you may not.  Colorful Creations was original formed in 2008 on the Ning Forum.  We enjoyed a successful run but closed our doors in 2011 due to hectic schedules and life changes.  Well guess what, we are back and we are looking for a few talented and creative scrappers/crafters to be on our design team.

Colorful Creations will consist of a variety of challenges ranging from sketches to layouts, from mixed media to off the page, from color combos to mood boards and whole lot more! There will be something for everyone! 

So if you are a Jack of all trade and a master of none, then this is the team for you!  LOL.  Our terms will run for 3 months with the initial term beginning February 1, 20176 to May 1, 2017 and could very well be extended after that time. The design team would be asked to complete 2 projects per month.  You must be a flexible crafter as our projects will have a wide range.  You will also be asked to comment entries each week.  I am only looking for dedicated members.

Why apply for our team? 

• To be inspired and to inspire others 
• To be on the ground floor of an up and coming blog 
• You will be a part of an amazing group of women and develop lifelong friendships with women from all over the world. 
• Your work will be featured on Facebook and Pinterest. 

What is expected of our Design Team? 

• You MUST be a follower of our blog
• Complete 2 projects a month (you will be given challenges at least a month in advance). 
• Comment on participants entries (THIS IS A MUST!).  Any team member not adhering to this rule will be promptly removed from the team so please make sure you can do this before applying. 
• Commit to a 3 month term (Beginning  February 1, 2017 thru May 1, 2017 
• Keep an active blog that is updated frequently 
• Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the Colorful Creations blog.

How to apply:

• FIRST become a new follower of this blog
• Leave a comment below indicating you would like to apply 
• Add our link and DT call to your blog
• Email 3 samples of your work that best represents your style to ourcolorfulcreations@gmail.com with DT call in the subject line
• Provide links to your blog and any online galleries. 
• Place our DT call on your blog to help get the word out.
• You MUST have a Facebook account as we will have a private DT group on Facebook

YOU Shine LIKE A STAR

 

Today's layout is really bright and festive! This is my layout for Berry71bleu January Challenge.

Here is the moodboard. I was inspired by the bright colors, wreath and feathers.

 

今日のレイアウトは、カラフルでめでたい雰囲気にしてみました！Berry71bleu 1月のチャレンジがこちら。明るい色やリース、羽にインスピレーションを頂きました。

 



 

This photo was taken several years ago, when it was the year of the dragon in Chinese Zodiac. With the background of a dragon, fan and lantern, my daughter wore a Chinese dress costume to match it. She was making poses in front of the camera, enjoying the atmosphere.

I used an orange cardstock for the background. I think it's the first time to use orange except for halloween! I cut a smaller square from pattened paper which I thought was colorful enough to match the picture. To make the picture stand out, I matted the picture with 3 layers of paper and popped it up. I decorated around it with diecut and flocky feathers. This fan is handmade too. I decorated it with diecuts and ribbon. I also used gold stickers, film and a clip for embellishments. Here are some close-ups;

写真は数年前、辰年に撮られたものです。龍や扇子、提灯の背景に、娘はチャイナ服のコスチュームを着て撮りました。その雰囲気が楽しかったみたいで、色んなポーズをとっていました♪

背景にはオレンジを使いましたが、ハロウィンのレイアウト以外で使ったのは始めてかも！背景より少し小さく、写真に負けないくらい派手なパターンペーパーをカットして貼りました。写真を目立たせるため、マット用のペーパーを3枚重ね、ポップアップしました。扇子も、手作りで作ってリボンやダイカットで飾りました。その他にステッカーやフィルム、クリップなどを使っています。

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the first time I joined this challenge, and I realized that most of the layouts are very chic and shabby...so mine might be out of place! lol. Anyways, I enjoyed creating this layout. I love different kinds of challenge:)

Good Vibes

 

I'm feeling really crafty this year!! I made a layout for ARTastic's January Challenge. The inspiration is this painting, Sydney Night by Ken Done. CRITERIA is a CITY theme.

今年は創作意欲が溢れてます！どんどん作ってます♪　今日のレイアウトは、この絵からインスピレーションを頂いたもの！テーマは、都会。

 

I was inspired by the black background and all the bright colors.

One of my aims this year is to create various types of layouts...Getting out my comfort zone and try new techniques, use paper I usually don't use, try new colors and so on. Using a black cardstock for my background is one of them.

 

I used pictures of my daughter when we went to Okinawa. It was quite warm although it was winter, and we were enjoying shopping in Naha City.

 

I first didn't know how to use this black background...it was SO black. I decided to use a mist to soften the blackness. I sprayed the Perfect Pearls Mist on most of the card stock and when it drys, it creats a pearlescent shimmer! Then I used a stencil and Dazzlerz paste (foiled again) and let it dry. I painted some colors on top of it to make a neon color, and flicked some white acrylic paint over it.

I sprayed mists on mistable diecuts and layered transparent pieces and stapled them. I popped up one of the pictures and the title, tied ribbons on tags, decorated with flairs and acrylic shapes. To be honest I didn't really know how this layout will turn out, but I'm satisfied and happy how it is:)

It was really fun to try something new!

 

黒い背景とネオンカラーが目に飛び込んできたので、トライすることに。

今年の目標は色々なタイプのレイアウトを作ること。得意分野からたまには離れて、新しいテクニックを試してみたり、普段使わない色やペーパーを使ったり。黒い背景もその一つです。

 

沖縄に行った時の写真を使いました。1月だけどとても暖かく、娘は上着を脱いで半袖で走り回ってました。旅行最終日で、那覇の国際通りでショッピング。

 

最初はこの真っ黒な背景をどうしようか悩みました。とりあえず少し色を和らげたかったので、パールミストを全体にふりかけてみました。乾くとパールのような光り方をします。次に、ステンシルとシルパーのペースト状絵の具で模様をつけ、乾いた後に色をのせて、ネオンカラーに。その後全体に白アクリルを歯ブラシにのせて指で飛ばしてます。わかりにくいけど少しやわらかい雰囲気になります。ダイカットに色をつけ、トランスパレンシーを重ねてホッチキスで留めました。写真1枚とタイトルはポップアップし、タグにリボンをつけ、ブラッズやアクリルのエンベリで飾って完成！

正直、どんなレイアウトに仕上がるか不安でしたが、満足です！いい感じ！新しいことにトライするのって楽しい♪
