JOYFUL XMAS (DTwork)

Hi! It's already mid December! So fast!! Today's layout is the Sketch + (3) Challenge for Scrap Our Stash. Here is the Challenge, and this is what I used: LIST1 BOW & RED, LIST2 GLITTER & GREEN, LIST3 GOLD

A couple of years ago, we visited a multiple facility in Awaji Island (small island in Hyogo, Japan). It was designed by the world famous architect, Tadao Ando. This picture is in one of the facilities; a huge green house. It was December, so it was decorated for Chrismas and it was sooo beautiful.

I followed the sketch quite faithfully, but instead of using borders, I fussy cut parcels from a chrismas paper, and lined them up. I popped up part of the title so it will stand out. I put gold glitter on the title for a shiny look. For the circle, I hand stitched it with shiny red thread. I fussy cut some bows, holly and a bell and popped some up. I also used flowers and die cut snowflakes. Here are some close-ups;

The Challenge is open till December 29th. I hope you all enjoy this challenge!

Thank you so much for visiting:)

LOVE {always} (DTwork)

Hello!!
This layout is based on December 15th Challenge for Stuck?! Sketches.
I love this skech! Very beautiful!!

I used a picture of my daughter when we went to an illumination event in Kobe. It was really magical, like you suddenly wandered inside a fairy tale. My daughter posed in front of the camera, but I totally forgot that she had a blanket wrapped around her shoulder until I printed it out...I remembered it was so cold that day. Well, it looks like a cape so I decided to use it anyway.

I spread a bit of gesso to fade out some of the pink dots, and sprayed some yellow under the title so it will stand out. I also sprayed the same color on the doilies.

The banner under the photo is made with washi tape and glittery thread.

I matted the photo with many layers of paper and a diecut frame.

Flowers, leaves and a pin add elegance♡

Layers of lace ribbons and rub-ons :) Love it!!

The generous sponsors are the following;

The Scraproom offers a $20.00 gift certificate to online store.

Scrapmatts offers 2large pieces of chipboard.

Be sure to link up by December 29th to be in the running for the prize! I'm excited to see how everyone interpreted the sketch!!

Thank you for visiting:)

c'mon santa! (DTwork)

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited to reveal my Scrap Our Stash Book Inspired Stash Challenge page for December! Here is the Challenge:)

I used many pictures for this layout...I wanted to express my daughter's excitement for Christmas. She was counting down with the advent calendar, and preparing a huge sock and waiting for santa to come. And! I found a picture of my daughter with the same face (upper left pic) as 'GRINCH' in this book! LOL!! It was so fun making this layout:)
I used striped paper for the background as it is one of the challenges, and teared some red patterned paper for the pictures. I layered some green paper between the red paper and picture so the photos will stand out. I put quite an amount of snow tex on the upper and lower edge of the paper and let it dry. I love the look of it! I used stickers and die-cuts for embellishments, and scattered sequins which is also one of the challenges.

Make sure to link up by December 29th! I can't wait to see everyone's take on this challenge!

Thank you so much for visiting:)

SHINE (DTwork)

Today I'm happy to show you my first layout for December's Stuck?! Sketches.
Here is the beautiful sketch♡

This is a picture of my daughter, on the moon...actually it was a big panel with a bench in a shopping center:)

I decided to use white cardstock paper for the background, and played with my oil pastels and color mists. I used blue, yellow, pink..all the colors from the picture. For the star, I printed out two different sizes of stars and used it as a template. I colored between the two stars with my watercolor pencil. I know I've covered most of it up, but you can see it when you give it a tilt. I matted the picture with several scraps of paper, and decorated around it with flowers, leaves, die-cuts and a clip. I scattered dew drops and I have to say..I love how it turned out!! Here are the details;

GO! GIRL, GO!

Today's layout is based on the sketch of My Creative Sketches. Here is the sketch;

The pictures were taken at the airport in Guam. We were kept waiting for sooooo long, and my daughter was beginning to get bored. But when I pointed the camera, she made this smile:)
It was really fun making this layout! I love travelling, and I love travel-themed paper (this one is from Crate paper). I cut out the papers in squares and layered them, and fussy cut some cute shapes and popped them up. I also used some gauze under the photos; I realized I had a whole roll of gauze which I bought from Costco and never used it, so I thought it might add a bit of interest if I used it as a layer. I mostly like the part that I used black thread for the plane flying♡ The journal is hidden in the tags behind the squares. Here are some close-ups;

The deadline for this challenge is December 14th. You might win a prize if link up!!

Thank you for visiting:)

CUTIE

I made a layout for the Hip Kit Club weekly challenge. I love the kits here, they are so pretty:)This is the sketch challenge.

I used my daughter's pictures (as usual♡). I love this border Tshirt she's wearing, isn't the back frill and ribbon soooo cute?? I think I got it from a Korean store. It was my daughter's favorite too, and she used to wear it a lot. I used a collection from the hip kit club, but I forgot which month...I spread some white gesso first, and then used colored mists and pan pastel for the background. I layered the photos with paper and some dotted tulles although it is difficult to tell in this picture. I popped up the right photo, and some ot the diecuts. For the borders, I used the same colors as the Tshirt. I love how this turned out, and it's always fun to try a new challenge! Here are some close-ups;
